If you're a filmmaker with a non-commercial project and seeking funding from an organization that requires you to be a tax-exempt NPO, Harvardwood can serve as your NPO fiscal sponsor.
By acting as your fiscal sponsor, Harvardwood can help make your project eligible for funding from many foundations, corporations, government agencies, and even individuals (because 501(c)(3) status makes their contributions tax-deductible).
Acting as your fiscal sponsor means that Harvardwood will accept and administer the funding given to your project. Harvardwood is not the producer of your project; all rights, title, interest in and to your project belong to you. Harvardwood oversees the funds received by your project to ensure they are used for the charitable activity, as determined by the funding organization and the project director.
To apply for Harvardwood's fiscal sponsorship, you must fulfill the following:
- Your project must be non-commercial.
- You must be a dues-current Harvardwood member for the duration of your project.
- You must be a U.S. citizen and/or have a Social Security or Federal ID number
All decisions whether to grant fiscal sponsorships are made in Harvardwood’s sole discretion.
We accept applications for our fiscal sponsorship on a rolling basis. For more information, please contact us and briefly introduce yourself and your project. Then we may be in touch to send you the Harvardwood fiscal sponsorship application.
