Job Description: The Digital Associate program is a fast-track opportunity for people with the goal to learn news-gathering and production skills required to be a successful bilingual news producer, capable of contributing to both NBC and Telemundo local stations. Participants in the program will work in a fast paced newsroom with the national digital team of NBC’s Owned Television Stations.  You will work with the digital teams at our duopoly television stations (NBC and Telemundo) to create the most compelling local digital news experience possible.  Each Digital Associate is assigned a mentor who is an experienced staff member. Associates also undergo an intense week-long orientation filled with workshops, lunches with guest speakers and training. By the end of the program, Digital Associates should be prepared for a digital content producer position at one of NBC’s Owned Stations.
 
Participants in the program will:

• Create and manage national-international content for digital platforms for NBC's 12 owned stations, including publishing stories from a variety of sources, writing stories, and managing the section itself.
• Help local editors at our duopoly television stations (NBC and Teleumdo) improve stories, headlines and photo selection as needed to lift the overall quality of the sites.
• Assist local editors covering major breaking news stories, including editing stories, writing sidebars, contributing original reporting, building photo galleries, etc.
• Help coordinate content and information sharing between NBC and Telemundo national teams.
