Please review the auction rules and guidelines below before placing any bids.

By bidding in Harvardwood’s silent auctions, each bidder agrees to these auction rules.

  1. All sales are final. There will be no exchanges or refunds. All items are “as is.” Harvardwood has attempted to describe and catalog items correctly, but neither warrants nor represents and in no event shall be responsible for the correctness of descriptions, genuineness, authorship, provenance or condition of the items. No statement made in this catalog, or made orally at the auction or elsewhere, shall be deemed such a warranty, representation, or assumption of liability.
  2. Payment for VIP lunch(es) purchased must be made in full within 48 hours of notification that the bidder has won the item. Harvardwood accepts payment by credit card online.
  3. Following payment(s), you will be put in touch with the VIP's office to schedule the lunch.
  4. Any VIP Lunch left unclaimed, without prior arrangements, will be sold and proceeds will go to Harvardwood. 
  5. Harvardwood reserves the right to add or withdraw items, without notice, to or from the auction.
  6. Each person bidding assumes all risks and hazards related to the auction and items obtained at the auction. Each bidder agrees to hold harmless from any liability arising indirectly from Harvardwood, their elected and appointed officials, members and employees, the auctioneer(s), the auction company and its agents and employees, the event organizers, sponsors, and/or volunteers connected with the auction.
  7. The lunch attendee must be a Harvard student, alum, staff, or faculty member, but is not required to be a Harvardwood member.
  8. A non-Harvard-affiliated individual may place a bid as long as s/he is doing so on behalf of a Harvard-affiliated lunch attendee (see #7 above).
  9. Once the lunch attendee is identified, the lunch is strictly non-transferable.
  10. The lunch is a one-on-one meeting. Winning bidders may not bring additional guests to the VIP lunch.
  11. The bidding period will end at 11:00am PT on August 8, 2016 for non-members, but Harvardwood members can continue to bid until 12:00pm PT on August 8, 2016. The auction will close at 12:00pm on August 8, 2016.

She currently writes for the upcoming NBC show The Good Place, and has previously written for Silicon Valley, Parks & Rec, Kroll Show, Childrens Hospital and The Oscars. Her short form comedy writing has appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times, and countless sites or "URLs" on the internet.

VIP Lunch with TV Lit Manager ZADOC ANGELL

angell.jpgZadoc Angell began his career as a TV Literary Agent at Paradigm, where he worked for seven years. Transitioning to TV Literary Management five years ago, Zadoc joined forces with manager Dave Brown and grew a team of literary managers which they brought with them to Echo Lake Entertainment in 2013.

Angell's journey to Hollywood is not a conventional one. Growing up on a 400-acre dairy farm in rural upstate New York, Zadoc and his sister Amy were integral to his parents' family-run business. The son of a minister and a local politician, Angell pursued his academic and creative endeavors to Harvard University, where he graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor's Degree in Visual & Environmental Studies: Film.

In addition to being a full-time manager, Angell teaches classes in pilot writing at UCLA. Angell’s TV writer client includes writers staffed on Empire, American Dad, Turn: Washington's Spies, Vice Principals, UnREAL, Nashville, Blindspot, and Training Day.

VIP Lunch with TV Writer & Executive Producer SAMUEL BAUM

baum.jpgSamuel Baum is the co-writer of the upcoming HBO Original Film The Wizard of Lies, starring Robert De Niro. Mr. Baum is currently creating and executive producing television projects for HBO under his development deal with the network.

Previously, Mr. Baum created the Fox television drama Lie to Me. Executive produced by Baum and Imagine Entertainment’s Brian Grazer and David Nevins, the award-winning series ran for three seasons.

Mr. Baum also co-created the ABC series The Evidence, which he executive produced along with John Wells Productions.

Additionally, he has written and executive produced television pilots for Amazon, CBS, and the former WB.

As a playwright, Mr. Baum has worked with the Old Globe Theatre, the Williamstown Theatre Festival, and Rattlestick Playwrights Theater.

Mr. Baum is originally from New York City and is a graduate of Harvard College.

VIP Lunch with TV Drama Writer & Executive Producer MELINDA HSU TAYLOR

Melinda_Hsu_Taylor_headshot_1MB.jpgMelinda Hsu Taylor is an Executive Producer on The Vampire Diaries and a proud genre geek.

Previous credits include Lost, Falling Skies, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Medium, and drama pilots for NBC and Lifetime. She is an alum of the Warner Bros. TV Drama Writers' Workshop as well as the WGA Showrunner Training Program, and serves on the Advisory Board for the Sarah Jones Film Foundation, which fosters on-set safety through awareness and accountability.

VIP Lunch with TV Writer & Co-Executive Producer AISHA MUHARRAR

Muharrar.jpgAs a teenager, Aisha Muharrar wrote the non-fiction book More Than a Label. Aisha is currently a Co-Executive Producer of NBC's Good Place — set to premiere September 19th on NBC.  

Prior to this, Aisha was a writer/producer of Parks and Recreation for six seasons. Most recently, Aisha developed a comedy for NBC with Amy Poehler, and wrote and directed her original play "Seldom, Very Seldom" for the Unscreened Theater Series.

VIP Lunch with COUPER SAMUELSON of Blumhouse Productions

Samuelson.jpgCouper Samuelson '02 is the President of Feature Films at Blumhouse Productions. Blumhouse, which has a first-look deal with Universal Pictures, has produced the highly-profitable Paranormal ActivityThe Purge, Insidious and Ouija franchises which have grossed more than $1.4 billion worldwide.

Blumhouse's model began with the original Paranormal Activity, which was made for $15,000 and grossed close to $200 million worldwide, making it the most profitable film in Hollywood history. Blumhouse’s award-winning projects include The Normal Heart and Whiplashthe latter of which Couper incubated from a Blumhouse-produced short film to the lowest-budget feature film in Hollywood history to win three Oscars. In addition, this year he shepherded the critically acclaimed thriller The Gift and the pathbreaking supernatural thriller Unfriended, which grossed nearly $35m in the US on a budget of $1m. 

Samuelson began his career at Mark Cuban's 2929, where he co-produced movies including James Gray's We Own the Night and Two Lovers, both of which were nominated for the Cannes Palme d'Or.
