Co-President and Founder MIA RIVERTON grew up in Indianapolis. A professional singer, actress, pianist and dancer since age four, Mia juggled artistic and academic pursuits throughout her school years. As a senior in high school, she was named a Presidential Scholar by Bill Clinton. Mia majored in economics at Harvard and graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Cum Laude after six semesters, during which she also spent time in Taiwan studying Chinese literature. While at Harvard, she sang a cappella with the Callbacks and performed in productions at the Agassiz, the Hasty Pudding and the American Repertory Theater. Mia now splits her time between Los Angeles and and New York, where she works as an actress-writer-producer in film, television, and theater. Her film work includes roles in KNOTS, OPEN HOUSE, CEO, RECOIL, and RED DOORS, an award-winning film which she also produced via her company, Blanc de Chine Entertainment (www.bdcfilms.com ). In 2006, CBS and Paramount TV bought a pilot script based on RED DOORS, which she wrote and produced with her two partners in Blanc de Chine. Other TV appearances include THE MENTALIST, MIAMI MEDICAL, CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM, ONE ON ONE, STRONG MEDICINE, and the HBO series DEADWOOD MYSTERIES. She has appeared on popular comedy web series including EASY TO ASSEMBLE and TURBODATES. She has also been active in LA theater; her stage work includes VOICES WE REMEMBER at the Geffen Playhouse and the Ovation-Award-winning world premiere of BARE. Mia continues to dance, sing, write music, and play guitar and piano.
As the current Director for Harvard in Hollywood, Mia is responsible for this annual symposium that brings together distinguished alumni to discuss trends and issues affecting the arts, media, and entertainment industries.
