Sean Lawrence

Sean Lawrence was born in Detroit, Michigan and was surrounded by music at an early age. Originally starting off on alto saxophone, he quickly worked his way through many other instruments before finally finding a natural fit on the drums. His burgeoning talents led to performances with world-renowned percussion ensembles and a scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music, which he graduated from in 2009 with a bachelors degree in Music Business Entrepreneurship and a minor in African/Latin drum styles.

His academic pursuits did not end with music school as he soon found himself at Harvard. Currently, Sean is finishing up his masters degree in International Relations with a focus on Advanced Qualitative Research Methods. He will graduate in 2013.

Over the years, Sean has performed, taught, and studied in Detroit, Boston, New York, and London. He enjoys all styles of music, but is especially influenced by reggae, classical, funk, hip-hop, and world styles. If it grooves and gets people shakin' then Sean likes it!
