Showrunner Sessions is the Writers Guild Foundation ongoing event series dedicated to answering the question: What exactly does a showrunner do? Along with being the head writer, they are also executive producers responsible for just about everything in a television show’s set. Learn how current showrunners landed the gig, how they approach their jobs, and how they navigate the ever-changing TV industry.
For this session, they welcome married showrunning and writing team Robert and Michelle King, who are the creators and showrunners of hit CBS and Paramount+ shows such as The Good Wife, The Good Fight, and Evil. You'll learn their process for running TV shows together, how they juggle multiple projects, and their advice for future showrunners.
Moderated by Nichelle Tramble Spellman (Truth Be Told).
