Neal Baer, Peter Blake, Terence Carter, Amy Retzinger, and Nicky Weinstock are among the A-listers pitching in to mentor new voices from the Harvardwood TV program this spring.
Los Angeles, CA (March 20, 2012) - Five writers have been selected for the 2nd annual list of Harvardwood’s Most Staffable TV Writers. A panel of 22 industry professionals selected these writers based on their original TV pilots completed during the Harvardwood Writers Program this past fall. (Read the loglines)

Harvardwood is proud to announce the winner of Harvard ROCKS 2012....Ms. Madison Greer (Harvard '13)!!! After months of initial review by our panel of industry judges, performance preparation and promotion, and an awesome delivery on Feb. 28th in LA, Madison has certainly earned the coveted ROCKS title! Her prize package includes soundtrack consideration at Fox Music (courtesy of judge Robert Kraft); performance consideration at Live Nation (courtesy of judge Ben Weeden); a vocal recording session with hit songwriter Anne Preven ("Listen" from DREAMGIRLS) and acclaimed vocal producer David "DQ" Quiones of the Writing Camp (Beyonce, Pussycat Dolls), recording the song chosen as the winner's most promising hit; and a brand new track from producers C-Aye Purcell of PrazimProductions (Jodeci, Nate Dogg) and Skye Lewin (CSI: MIAMI. THE KARATE KID).

Harvardwood is currently seeking an enthusiastic Co-Chapter Head in Boston! Through fun and engaging events, programs, and more, Harvardwood Chapter Heads work to develop a strong community among local Harvard alumni and students that work and/or are interested in the arts, media, and entertainment. Boston is home to Harvardwood's third largest chapter, and Chapter Heads in this region have the opportunity to work in and around Harvard's campus as well as with members of its dynamic student body.

We are currently soliciting musical acts for the Harvardwood/Stanford Holiday Party! The party will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 13th from 8-11pm at the House of Blues on Sunset.

Bands/artists should submit 2 to 3 songs (including lyrics if possible), and a contact sheet that that clearly states the following: 1) Performer/Band name, 2) name of contact person, 3) contact info including phone, email, and website if available, and 4) instrumental performing lineup of the group. Send all of this to: [email protected] for consideration by Wed., Nov. 30th.

We are currently seeking volunteers to help run the festivities at our Harvardwood/Stanford Holiday Party! The event will take place on Tuesday, December 13th from 8-11pm (volunteers should plan to arrive by 7pm). Please email [email protected] if interested.

The performing acts will then compete for the ultimate music industry prize package.

Harvardwood is in the early stages of creating a funding initiative that will offer financial assistance to feature film projects in various stages of development and production. The fund will be exclusively for the use of Full Members of Harvardwood and the finance will initially be raised from within the larger Harvard alumni community. It is more likely to be a form of soft rather than equity financing.

After working through 140 scripts and 3 rounds of judging, the RESULTS of the Harvardwood Writers' Competition are finally in!

First, a big congratulations to all FINALISTS – choosing between the best scripts was difficult in every category. Once again, the quality of your writing speaks for itself.

Also, a huge thank-you to everybody who helped out as JUDGES in this competition. You’ll remain anonymous as promised, but we’re grateful that you leant us your time and expertise.
