Last year, 53 cities and over 1000 alumni worldwide participated in Harvard’s Global Month of Service in April. Here in LA, we again topped all cities' participation, with over 230 alumni volunteering with 27 organizations. We couldn't have done it without you - helping set the bar.

This year, we invite you to participate again. As this is the 5th anniversary for "Harvard Serves,” we hope to double our participation this April.

It was a tough race, but we are now pleased to announce the judges' picks for Harvard ROCKS 2013!!

Started in 2009, Harvard ROCKS brings out the best of the best in Harvard's undiscovered musical talent. This year's acts were chosen by a group of top tier industry judges (judges listed below). The performing artists for Harvard ROCKS 2013 will be:

• Dan Masterson

Runner-ups for this year's showcase are:

• The Roads NYC

We are seeking a few volunteers to help at the Harvard ROCKS showcase on Wednesday, Feb. 20th in Los Angeles. Volunteers will help check people in at the door, tally audience votes for the artists, document the event with photos and video, and other duties as needed. The performing acts will be chosen by a group of top tier industry judges including Robert Kraft (CEO of KraftBox Entertainment, FORMER President of Fox Music), Tom Morello (guitarist for RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE and AUDIOSLAVE), Eddie Dalva (Executive Vice President, Content and Program Enterprises, Entertainment and Music Groups at Viacom Media Networks), Anne Preven (academy-award winning songwriter), Ben Weeden (COO of North American Music for Live Nation), DA Wallach of CHESTER FRENCH, and more (all names and bios listed below)! The performing acts will then compete for a career-boosting music industry prize package!

After working through over 100 scripts and 3 rounds of judging, the RESULTS of the 2012 Harvardwood Screenwriting Competition are finally in!

First, a big congratulations to all FINALISTS – choosing between the best scripts was difficult in every category. Once again, the quality of your writing speaks for itself.

Also, a huge thank-you to everybody who helped out as JUDGES in this competition. You’ll remain anonymous as promised, but we’re grateful that you leant us your time and expertise.

Calling all Oregon residents working (or strongly interested) in the arts, media, and entertainment! Harvardwood is starting up an Oregon Chapter, and we want to hear from you! If you are in Oregon, please join the Oregon Chapter through the Harvardwood website (instructions below), or feel free to send an email with any questions, concerns, or ideas to Chapter Head Raz Mason – [email protected].

Started in 2006, the Harvardwood Writers' Competition was created to give emerging Harvard writers the opportunity to gain industry exposure and to recognize superior work. The contest includes these three categories:

1) Feature screenplays (90-120 pp., all genres)
2) Television pilots (30-min and 60-min, all genres)
3) One-act plays (40-min maximum, no minimum)

Harvardwood Talent Group (HTG) is a program that provides professional resources, information, and opportunities for Harvard actors. In addition, HTG submits Harvardwood actors for feature films, TV, and Theater. The goal is to help participating actors establish a strong work history and eventually secure talent agency representation.

Actors must audition to join HTG. The next round of auditions will be Tuesday, May 1st 3:00 - 6:00 PM. Please email [email protected] for an appointment. Additional details will be emailed prior to the audition.
