Dues-current Full Members of Harvardwood may post their promotional materials to the Harvardwood Music Directory!
Post your bio, links to your music and videos, and any other pertinent information for all members and site visitors to view. Members that submit to the Directory can then send their music to [email protected] for consideration on Harvardwood Radio. (Please note that not all submissions will make it to Harvardwood Radio. Tracks will be chosen at the discretion of the Harvardwood Board. Please send a streaming link for review, NOT an attachment. Attachments will not be considered.)

Harvardwood is delighted to announce the 2013 Harvardwood Heroes (HH) grant winners! The HH grant program aims to spotlight and support those members of Harvardwood that have made or plan to make an exceptional contribution to the community, specifically at the intersection of arts and service. Launched in 2013 the Harvardwood Heroes (HH) grant program aims to spotlight and support those members of Harvardwood that have made or plan to make an exceptional contribution to the community, specifically at the intersection of arts and service. These Heroes exemplify the mission of Harvardwood, demonstrating the power and purpose of the arts, media, and entertainment.
Harvardwood will begin this program in 2013 by awarding four $500 grants* to applicants that have demonstrated (or plan to demonstrate) a distinguished level of service to their organization of choice. Winners will be determined by the strength of their proposal, and will receive the balance of the grant upon submission of final essay. To apply for an HH grant, please read the guidelines below.
Harvardwood Heroes grants will be awarded annually (pending the availability of adequate resources to support the program). Harvardwood has identified a few organizations working at the intersection of arts & service that may be of interest to our members. Applicants can apply their service hours toward these selected organizations or choose one of their own.

Started in 2006, the Harvardwood Writers Competition was created to give emerging Harvard writers the opportunity to gain industry exposure and to recognize superior work. The contest includes these three categories:
1) Feature screenplays (90-120 pp., all genres)
2) Television pilots (30-min and 60-min, all genres)
3) One-act plays (40-min maximum, no minimum)
The deadline for submissions will be Thursday, AUGUST 15 at 11:59 PM. Scripts will be evaluated by industry professionals, and winners in each category will be announced in October. First-place writers will receive a cash award and free admission to the 2013-14 Writers Program.

Seeking participants for the Professional Screenwriters & Playwrights Working Group - NY
PROFESSIONAL SCREENWRITERS & PLAYWRIGHTS WORKING GROUP
Members should have worked professionally as a screenwriter or playwright. For screenwriters, this means they've sold or optioned material, whether film or TV. For playwrights, this means they've had work produced. The group will meet bi-weekly to chat, discuss the industry, especially the NY scene, and exchange work for critique.

Harvardwood is one of the partners in the first-ever Beijing International Screenwriting Competition! Open to US-based contestants of all nationalities, the competition is asking writers to submit both short film (the short film portion is open to full-time students and recent grads) and feature film screenplays (open to all US-based writers) centered on Beijing and its rich, multifaceted culture. As the first of its kind, the goal of this groundbreaking initiative is to foster artistic collaboration and an ongoing creative dialogue between China and the US.

After months of initial review by our panel of industry judges, performance preparation and promotion, and an awesome delivery on Feb. 20th in LA, The Trees have certainly earned the coveted ROCKS title! Harvardwood & the Brown University Entertainment Group are proud to present The League Show, a new monthly comedy show featuring an all-Ivy lineup! The League Show debuts on Thursday, March 7 at 9:00pm at Room 5 in Hollywood. This ongoing program will showcase and promote our fellow Ivy comics. If you are an Ivy League stand-up comic, please send a a web link to a clip of your set to [email protected] to be considered for the lineup. If you know an Ivy comic, please refer them to us!
