Harvardwood is in the early stages of creating a funding initiative that will offer financial assistance to feature film projects in various stages of development and production. The fund will be exclusively for the use of Full Members of Harvardwood and the finance will initially be raised from within the larger Harvard alumni community. It is more likely to be a form of soft rather than equity financing.

This idea is currently in very early stages and Harvardwood is looking to form a committee that can bring it to fruition and/or help to run it. If you are interested in getting involved and have a solid background in film finance, film grants and subsidies, entertainment law or charity/non profit law (or would like to develop skill sets in these areas), please get in touch with London Chapter Head Uzma Hasan who will be leading the process - [email protected].

Independent film is a cherished art form that is fast disappearing. Harvard should take the lead in supporting the 20th century's greatest medium. The FFF Committee is a great idea. I offer my full support. Thanks to Uzma Hasan and the London chapter.
