The NYC Harvardwood Writers Program is seeking new participants!  If you'd like to register for a group, just e-mail us at [email protected], and we'll forward your message to the appropriate group leader.

These groups are open only to Full Members of Harvardwood and, in limited numbers, to Friends of Harvardwood.  If you're an Affiliate, or if your membership has lapsed, you'll need to upgrade to Full Membership.  No guests.  Non-Harvard spouses and friends of Harvardwood members will need to become Friends of Harvardwood to participate.  If you would like to register for Harvardwood, click here.

The following groups are seeking new members:

  • COMEDY WRITING (Winter/Fall 2011)Led by humorist and comedic storyteller Dawn Fraser, this group welcomes a wide array of writings including sketches, essays, memoirs, fiction, stand-up and screenplays-with one overarching agenda- to make it funny!  We meet weekly over the course of 13 weeks, and each person usually presents his or her material once every two weeks.  If interested in practicing this wonderful art of tickling funny bones, please email [email protected].
  • WRITING FOR TELEVISION:  Led by Liz Levy, this will welcome writers interested in both comic and dramatic television writing.  Other episodic endeavors, such as web series, are welcome as well!
  • PROSE NON-FICTION: Led by a veteran author and foreign correspondent (NY Times, CBS News, now editor-in-chief of World Policy Journal) David Andelman, this will focus on large and small-scale prose non-fiction of all varieties--including magazine, newspaper, and online. Story selection, writing, structure, and marketability will all be addressed, and writers will be encouraged to critique the work of their fellow authors (constructively, of course!). [email protected]
  • SCREENWRITING & PLAYWRITING:  Coming soon....
