The event will begin at 6 p.m. with a 45-minute reception in the stunning 1887 landmark setting of the Down Town Association. The interview will begin at approximately 6:50 p.m.
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a spy? Before his retirement from the CIA, Scott E. Gilman served for three decades in Africa, Latin America, Europe, South Asia, and the Middle East as a clandestine officer. He recruited and worked with high level informants within terrorist organizations, drug cartels, rogue nations, dictatorships, and insurgencies, gathering information vital for U.S. policy, military planning, and covert operations. These experiences led him to write the CIA's original manual on how to recruit terrorists, and his methodology, and the techniques he originally developed, taught, and personally implemented, remain in use today.
This will be an intimate interview offering a unique insight into the realities, many of them considerably stranger and more dramatic than fiction, of the life of a spy.
Mr Gilman will be interviewed by playwright and Harvardwood NY Chapter Head Spence Porter.
After the event, attendees are invited to stay and mingle over dinner (credit cards will be accepted) in the Down Town Association's beautiful dining room.
The Down Town Association is easy to reach. Just take the #2 or #3 train to the Wall Street Station, and leave by the Pine Street exit. You'll be across the street from the Down Town Association.
Or you can take the #4 or #5 train to the Wall Street station. Walk three blocks east on Wall Street to William Street. Turn left on William Street and walk one block to Pine. Then turn right on Pine Street. 60 Pine Street is on the left side of the street. (It's simpler than it sounds!)
