For 42 years the City of Nagasaki in Japan has hosted a PEACE EXHIBITION.  It is an exciting World-class exhibition held at the Nagasaki Prefectural Art Museum. Harvardwood fine artist and a strong advocate for peace, Janai-Ami,  will have two works included in the show. Both of the pieces are from her Pandemic Series, and neither have been shown previously elsewhere.  The works are both oil on canvas.  One is titled "MODERNA" and the other "PRAYING FOR AI-FEN." The characteristics of this period of the artist's work are symbolic crowns (standing in for 'corona') and bubbles (symbolizing the viral capsules); as well as the characteristic graphs that were a frequent accompaniment to the nightly news in the USA for well over a year. The works from this period are distinctly different from the artist's contemporary florals for which she is known, but it is interesting to see what a different path the pandemic led her down as it did with so many artists.  "PRAYING FOR AI-FEN" is on loan from a private collection for this Exhibition.
