After leaving a promising law career to pursue his writing dreams, Adam R. Perlman AB '04 (Co-Executive Producer, Billions) successfully climbed the ranks from Writer's Assistant to Co-EP on a series of one-hour dramas, including Drop Dead Diva, The Newsroom, The Good Wife, and, most recently, Billions. In this moderated conversation, Adam will talk about his non-traditional path to Hollywood, offer an insider's look at the workings of a TV writers room, and share his thoughts on what it takes to make it as a TV writer.

Adam R. Perlman AB '04
(Writer & Producer, Billions, The Good Wife)
Adam is currently Co-Executive Producer on the Showtime TV series BILLIONS. On the TV side, he previously wrote for THE GOOD WIFE, THE NEWSROOM, and STATE OF AFFAIRS. He is currently writing a pilot for Showtime, on which he serves as EP along with Billions creators Brian Koppelman & David Levien.
In the film world, Adam co-wrote the Black List script SEPTILLION-TO-ONE which has Julia Roberts attached to star and Mark Romanek to direct. He also wrote LOOKING FOR BRANDO, which has Paul Rudd attached to star. Adam recently wrote THE TRASHERS, based on a Sports Illustrated article, for Yellow Bear and MC2. His first screenplay, THE MORGAN PRINCIPLE, won the Final Draft Big Break competition.
Adam's original play, THE PROVIDER, is being produced by Brian and Dayna Lee (Angels in America) and will have a reading in NY this summer. He's currently writing and developing a new musical based on the novel THE GARGOYLE HUNTERS.
Adam holds an A.B. from Harvard and a J.D. from NYU.
