Bootleg Theater presents A New Play by John Ross Bowie: Four Chords and a Gun.
Four Chords and a Gun tells the crazy, funny, sad and true story of the Ramones. In 1978 the pioneering punk band, desperate for a hit, enlisted legendary (and legendarily ... eccentric) producer Phil Spector to produce their 5th album. In the ensuing months guns were drawn, hearts were broken, and an incredible record was created. An exciting portrayal of the lunacy of creative endeavors, Four Chords and a Gun was written by John Ross Bowie and directed by Jessica Hanna.
The cast will feature Josh Brener AB '07 (Silicon Valley, The Internship), Arden Myrin (MadTV, W/Bob and David), Johnathan McClain (Retired at 35, Mad Men), Matthew Patrick Davis (Comedy Bang! Bang!, Greek), James Pumphrey (Arrested Development, Key & Peele) and Michael Daniel Cassady (Love, Drunk History).
Scenic Design by David Offner (Asterion), Costume Design by Kerry Hennessey (Gogol Project), Lighting Design by Brandon Baruch (Wood Boy Dog Fish, Vieux Carre) and Sound Design by Cricket Myers (Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo, Stoneface).
Special final performance benefitting The Music Cancer Fund @ Sweet Relief and The Pablove Foundation. FREE Childcare ages 4-12 provided by www.redroseco.com.
