The Office for the Arts and the First-Year Arts Program present a keynote conversation about arts fields — from commercial theater to the film industry to classical dance and many genres — that have been called to task for lack of diverse representation, systemic biases and other exclusionary practices. This panel seeks to discuss the importance of inclusionary practices and creating space at the table for underrepresented voices in art.

Join the OFA associate director for programming Alicia Anstead in discussion with Marc Bamuthi Joseph, vice president and artistic director for social impact at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts (Washington, DC), Emily Knapp ’03, associate director of the Public Works program for the Public Theater (New York City), and Jennifer Chen ‘11, general manager of the American Modern Opera Company (Cambridge, MA).
