Crowdfunding has become an increasingly popular and accessible way to finance a variety of creative projects, films, albums, novels, art installations, and traditional business ventures. This program aims is to provide a legal foundation for some of the most common areas that artists and producers may encounter as they create crowdfunding projects in the arts and entertainment arenas. Some topics to be covered include how to raise funds for a project, the differences in crowdfunding platforms, protecting ideas and intellectual property, production law, and potential consequences when funded projects fail to be developed.
