Old-school elegance, the Annenberg/Harry Potter vibe, and hip hospitality combine in this famously re-imagined space praised by Travel and Leisure for its “strong design and honest story telling.” Harvardwood CHI writers will meet informally in one of the many comfy conversational areas of the laptop-friendly Drawing Room of the lobby of the historic Chicago Athletic Association. Look for the "Harvardwood Writers" placard on our chosen table in the 2nd-floor public lounge!
AND joining us will be Alec Nevala-Lee AB '02, author of the book Astounding: John W. Campbell, Isaac Asimov, Robert A. Heinlein, L. Ron Hubbard, and the Golden Age of Science Fiction, to be released by Dey Street Books, an imprint of HarperCollins, on October 23, 2018. His novels include the thrillers The Icon Thief, City of Exiles, and Eternal Empire, all published by Penguin. Alec's stories appear frequently in the magazine Analog Science Fiction and Fact.
All writers and their friends are welcome. Cash bar and menus. On-site Apres hotspots include: Cindy’s Bar on the 13th floor with sweeping views of the lake and Grant Park; the Game Room; and more.
