KILLER - a short film written & directed by Jack Pettibone Riccobono ('03) & Adam Leon - will screen at the HBO Latino Film Festival in NYC on Friday, July 30th and Sunday, August 1st. Set in 1989 NYC, the film follows 17-year-old Jose Ortiz (Xavier Pena), a high school kid obsessed with an intense, dangerous game called KILLER. Based on a real game still played in New York today, KILLER is a glimpse into an urban rite of passage and features a young cast of newly discovered talent. KILLER premiered as one of six shorts selected for the New Directors / New Films Series at the Museum of Modern Art & Lincoln Center, and won Best Short at the Nantucket Film Festival. This
scene, featuring actress Karen-Eileen Gordon, was TOTALLY IMPROVISED
ON-CAMERA during the filming of 20th Century Fox's hilarious remake,
BACHELOR PARTY 2. Gordon plays AUTUMN, the big sister of the
Bride-to-be (Sara Foster). The gentleman strapped to the bed is
Autumn's less-than-stellar husband (Warren Christie)...there was one
take only, and the camera rolled for FOUR FULL MINUTES! :) The footage
was edited for time, and can also be found on the DVD (special
features, "Autumn's Room Service Rant"). This improvised monologue,
along with Gordon's performance in the feature, got her singled out by
reviewers as "delivering the funniest female performance in the movie
(Upcoming Discs.com)."
This is the trailer for a feature-length comedy that I co-wrote and co-star in that also includes fellow A.R.T. alumni Todd Peters, Mark Boyett, Anthony Cistaro, Caroline Hall, Blair Sams, Jay Boyer and the acclaimed stage director Andrei Belgrader.
The film has currently screened in over 10 film festivals and we are hard at work on our next projects, another comedy feature and a television series.
