"California Contemporary fine artist and primitive Janai-Ami sculpts using paint as a medium in an unusual technique which blends craft and sculpting with more traditional approaches to the medium. Her extraordinary use of color is widely regarded among fellow artists placing her among the top colorists working today. The resulting impact of her passionate florals is palpable. Her unique work may be viewed at http://www. Janai-Ami. net. Several paintings will be on display in September / October 2008 at the Malibu Courthouse north of Cross Creek at Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu. A documentary featuring the artist recently began filming in Los Angeles. The artist began painting in response to 9/11 and has several works in permanent Museum Collections, including the Museum of History and Art (Ontario), The Museum of Women in The Arts, Library and Archives (Washington, D.C.) and The Museum of Tolerance (Los Angeles)." "The artist's work has been cited in The Los Angeles Times (02/04), The Malibu Surfside News, The Pasadena Star News, The Tolucan Times, The Beach Reporter, and several local papers in Texas, Pennsylvania, Florida, Kansas, California, where the artist has won Awards in nationally juried shows. Shain's Way and Just Before Sunrise were recently featured at the official residence of United States Ambassador Helen LaLime in Maputo, Africa and at the United States Embassy in Maputo. Important Private Collections include Senior Executives at Miramax Films and Coca Cola and in Langley, Virginia."
