Announcing the 2012 Harvardwood Writers' Competition Winners!

After working through over 100 scripts and 3 rounds of judging, the RESULTS of the 2012 Harvardwood Screenwriting Competition are finally in!

First, a big congratulations to all FINALISTS – choosing between the best scripts was difficult in every category. Once again, the quality of your writing speaks for itself.

Also, a huge thank-you to everybody who helped out as JUDGES in this competition. You’ll remain anonymous as promised, but we’re grateful that you leant us your time and expertise.

Second Acts (Half-Hour Comedy) - Dorothy Fortenberry
When an avant-garde theater director flops in New York, she returns to her hometown. In high school, she was voted most likely to succeed, now she must take the job of her nightmares: directing the drama troupe at the local retirement center.

Blood Money (Drama) - Rory Kozoll
In 1885 Portland, a busy waterfront engenders a terrible form of corruption- the practice of shanghaiing. In the pilot, JOE KELLY shanghaiis ROBERT PENNOYER, the son of a rich industrialist, a mistake that will have far-reaching consequences for both.

In addition to the cash prize, Harvardwood will help set up meetings for our winners with managers, agents, other screenwriters and/or development execs around Hollywood (tailored to their individual career needs). Our goal is to help our winning writers achieve concrete progress in their careers as a result of their work.
