We will be accepting script submissions via email and post from March 1st through March 30th, 2007 (you must submit both an electronic version and a hard copy).

PROCESS:
Circle of Confusion will evaluate all scripts entered to determine the winner and runners up. The winner and runners up will be announced no later than June 1st, 2007.

The winning script and runners up will then be read by various industry professionals, and the author(s) will be considered for representation by Circle of Confusion. The first place winner will also receive a free year of Paid Membership to Harvardwood and a cash prize of an amount to be determined.

RULES:
Only Paid Members of Harvardwood are eligible for the competition. If you are not a Paid Member, you can join or upgrade by going to www.harvardwood.org and clicking on "Membership".

Submissions for the 2007 contest must be postmarked and e-mailed no later than March 30, 2007. Submitted scripts will not be returned.
You must submit BOTH an electronic version via email AND a hard copy version via regular mail.

NO REPEAT ENTRIES are allowed – scripts that were submitted for previous Harvardwood Screenplay Competitions are ineligible for this year’s competition, even if the title has changed.

Each script submission must be accompanied by a signed and completed 1) Entry Form, 2) Release Form, and 3) check for $10 made out to Harvardwood. All materials must be received before your script can be considered.

Any genre is permitted. Scripts should be approximately 90-120 pages in length, 12 pt Courier font, standard script margins and conventions, and body pages must be numbered. Scripts must submitted via email as a PDF. Submissions must have been written originally in English; translations will not be accepted. The applicant's name, address, phone number or any other identifying information should not appear on the cover, the title page or any other page of the script – this information should only be included on the entry form.

Submissions must be the original work of the contestant(s) and may not be based, in whole or in part, on any other fictional or nonfictional material, published or unpublished, produced or unproduced. Entries may, however, be adapted from the contestant's (or contestants') original work, which should be noted on the entry form. If the script is based on a true story, historical or contemporary, that should be noted on the title page.

Collaborative work, undertaken by no more than two writers, is eligible. Collaborative screenplays written by three or more writers are not eligible. An individual/team can submit only one script, and at least one writing partner must be a Paid Member of Harvardwood. Separate entry forms should be submitted by both collaborators. One should be designated the main contact for all mailings. Writing partners selected as winners will divide the prize equally.

Entered scripts may not have been previously optioned, sold, or produced.

Scripts must be the original work of the author(s), 18 or older.

No substitutions of new drafts or corrected pages for script entries will be accepted under any circumstances.

Harvardwood and Circle of Confusion, LLC recommend registering your scripts with the WGA and/or copyrighting your material with the Library of Congress.

Employees of Harvardwood and/or Circle of Confusion and their immediate families are not eligible, nor are competition judges and their immediate families.
